There is nothing quite like a New York City Cabaret. Tucked into a cozy booth in a dark club, sipping a cocktail, listening to a voice that could make you swoon. It’s a magical experience. While New York City is known for their top-notch Cabaret shows, you thankfully don’t have to travel across the country to partake in the wonderful world of Cabaret. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts located in beautiful Costa Mesa, CA offers a front-row seat to SoCal natives and visitors, with their Cabaret Series. In the Cabaret Series the center showcases a diverse collection of vocal talents, including both Broadway icons and up and coming theater stars. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ intimate Samueli Theater, with Cabaret-style seating and great acoustics offers theater-goers an exceptional experience where artists interact with the audience.

The 2024-2025 Cabaret Series is coming to an end, with two special shows remaining. April 10-12, actor and Broadway veteran Cheyenne Jackson will bring his show Signs of Life to the stage. Following a sold out run at 54 Below in New York City, the Emmy and GRAMMY-nominated vocal powerhouse will stun SoCal audiences during a musical meditation celebrating art, love, fatherhood and the cosmic twists and turns that have shaped Jackson’s life. He’s made audiences dance while watching Xanadu, laugh watching Call Me Kat and cring watching American Horror Store. Some people have it all. Good looks, charisma, charm and a lot of talent. Cheyenne Jackson is one of those people and his show is one you won’t want to miss. A true chance to hear the voice of an angel.

Following Cheyenne Jackson, the last Cabaret show of the season is Forbidden Broadway: Merrily We Stole a Song which parodies current Broadway shows, including The Wiz, Back to the Future, Merrily We Roll Along and Hell’s Kitchen. The show is a fall-down funny, satirical roast, featuring outrageous costumes, silly spoofs and songs you know by heart.
